MATTHEW MUNRO

Growing up on a farm in Bundaberg Queensland, Matthew Munro started playing guitar and writing songs at 14 years old. Over the years he has been exposed to many different types of music but it is the stories found in country music that he connects the most.

Matthew's music and songs reach out to touch the audience, drawing them into the experience shared and stories told.

'When I perform I love to make a connection with people and take them on a journey with me. I love the different places music can take us emotionally and I want people to go home happy' says Matthew.

Being a graduate of both the Junior and Senior streams of the Academy of Country Music has provided Matthew with a solid business as well as creative base, and has opened up opportunities such as performing on the Golden Guitar Awards in Tamworth.

2019 sees Matthew continuing to pursue a full-time music career and having already performed with major artists like O'shea, Adam Harvey, Carter & Carter and Brad Butcher, he is well on his way to fulfilling his dream. Major festival appearances include Childers Festival, The Lighthouse Festival, and the Gympie Muster. He's passionate about his songwriting and has co-written with Alan Caswell, Matt Scullion and David Carter, and will continue to tell his story through his songs as he works towards his first original recording.

Playing his own brand of country, with unique vocals and a special way of connecting to his audiences, Matthew Munro is a rising talent not to be missed.
